Testament - Dark Roots Of Earth

Detail of antlered figure on the Gundestrup CauldronThe cover artwork features a bearded god with antlers surrounded by snakes and worshipped by a bunch of people. This character seems to represent Cernunnos, a celtic horned god. The most popular depiction is on a cauldron found in Gundestrup, Denmark, thought to date between 200 BC and 300 AD. Cernunnos often is connected to the Celtic deer god and interpreted as god of nature and fertility.
