Behemoth The Apostasy Feature

Behemoth – Symmetry. She who destroys.

12th of November, 2011

Behemoth is a Polish Black/Death Metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. The Apostasy is Behemoth’s eighth full-length album and was released on July 17, 2007 through Regain Records.

Apostasy is the renunciation of a religion by a person. Today, the term apostasy is used by sociologists to mean renunciation and criticism of a person’s former religion. (source).

The cover art was designed and developed by Tomasz Danilowicz and depicts Kali, the Hindu goddess associated with eternal energy. The name Kali means black, time, death and lord of death.

Kali is often presented as dark and violent – like on this Behemoth cover or the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. So finally, we found the missing link between George Lucas and Polish Death Metal.
