Enslaved is a Progressive / Black / Viking Metal band from Bergen, Norway, formed in 1991 in Sveio. The band name was inspired by the Immortal demo track “Enslaved in Rot.” (source). Though Enslaved began as a typical Norwegian Black Metal band, they always incorporated song structures unusual for the genre, thus shifting towards Progressive Viking Metal. Most of the band’s imagery and lyrics relate to Norse mythology – as you can see in their logo design.

This logo design is so great I can hardly breathe (well, it might also be the sticky weather). If you would search for a Black Metal logo that combines traditional Black Metal logo elements with modern graphic design trends you will find Der Weg einer Freiheit’s logo design.
Der Weg einer Freiheit is a Black Metal band from Würzburg, Germany, and was formed in 2009. They’ve released their self-produced and self-titled debut in 2009, the EP Agony in 2011 and the latest full length album Unstille in 2012 – both via Viva Hate Records. Their logo was created by Unas, a friend of the band who’s also from Würzburg.
Ingested is a Death Metal/Deathcore band from Manchester, UK, and was founded in 2007. To this day they have released two full length records (Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering in 2009 and The Surreption in 2011) and a three-way-split with Crepitation and Kastrated in 2007.
The cover for Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering is depicted above. The artwork was done by Toshihiro Egawa. Within a centered symmetry a flesh eating plant eats, impales and mutilates human bodies. Ingested’s logo design is nice aswell. It reminds me of thorns or barbed wire while incorporating Metal Descenders.
